“Alone we can achieve so little. Together we can achieve so much”. Humorously referring themselves as the Fantastic Four, Principal Mr. WAN recognized the value of teamwork. With the cooperation with the two Vice Principals Mr. TAM and Miss TANG, and Assistant Principal Mr. THUNG, the school has built a solid foundation and is achieving success with the philosophy of “discipline with love”.

Our school was invited to an interview from “Up Knowledge” Magazine《知識》 in September to share its vision to cultivate potentials in students. During the interview, Principal Wan shared about our school teaching philosophy, goals and aspirations. In addition, he also shared some insights and experience on teaching and learning with the readers. By emphasizing on “Care with love, Justice with care”, Principal Wan has a strong belief that our students can fully utilize their talents and give back to the community.

Our A cappella team H.O.A., the guest of the press conference of "Adventures to the Edge 2"

Sean Lee-Davies’ TV series "Adventures to the Edge 2" sounds the alarm in Hong Kong and across Asia about the environmental crisis facing the world. With the planet losing half its wildlife in the last 40 years and the real possibility that all ocean life will become extinct by 2048, there is no time to lose. The time for change is now. It is our honor to take part in the press conference of the sequel.

Our school’s frequent participation in environmental and conservation activities has been greatly recognized by TVB. H.O.A., our A cappella team was invited to attend the press conference of “Adventures to the Edge 2" on September 5, 2016. ?H.O.A. sang the song “All Things Bright and Beautiful” to proclaim environmental messages.

Through dialogues with host and media friends, the environment issue was emphasized. Ms. McCafferey, the Utan Eco-expert encouraged young people to spread its importance through social media, voluntary work and making donation to related organizations. Ms. Watson, a dolphin Eco-expert reminded the important 4Rs ─ Reduce, Recycle, Reuse and Replace. Reduce plastic bags in our daily lives, use Recycled paper and etc. The conference brought new insights to our students realizing immediate action should be taken in order to save our world.  It was truly an amazing chance to develop an informal and environmental participation in the press conference.
RTHK Interview – Principal’s Sharing

We Care, We Act! - Let’s act for the recycling helpers!

To echo with the movement ‘We Care, We Act!’ activated by the Mission To New Arrivals Limited and filmed by the TVB crew, 37 Lutheranians from S1-S5 gathered in Yuen Long and engaged in scavenging and flattening cardboard boxes for the recycling helpers in hopes of not only expressing our deepest appreciation and tribute to their contribution to the community, but also provoking our thoughts for respecting people from all walks of life. Young Post Highlight - 6B Kessay Chan

With his astonishing creativity and astounding capability, 2014 Student of the Year Performing Artist winner 6B Kessay Chan Kwan-ming jumped on board to his unprecedented collaborative performance with the violinist Abiel Ma of Diocesan Boys’ School and the harpist Christy Leung of Diocesan Girls’ School, which is bound to wow the crowd, again. Japan-Osaka Volleyball Training and Science Exploration Tour

Our students visited the Osaka City Minami Senior High School at 29 September 2015 during the 6-day Japan-Osaka Volleyball Training and Science Exploration Tour. They were warmly welcomed and had a match friendly competition of volleyball with the local students. Friendship between them was built up quickly and these beautiful memories will last long. The USA Tour 2015

Our visit to the USA was reported by the local city newspaper there – The Daily Clintonian, on 25 September 2015. It has introduced this exchange program and covered the schedule of the tour, together with a group picture showing every smiling faces. For the seventh year has this tour been hold, strong bond were built up between us and the South Vermillion Schools and people there, love and care are always the bridge no matter how far the distance is. A Daring HKDSE Warrior

Despite having financial difficulties in the family, 6D Kwok Tin-yuk struggled against all odds in the 2015 HKDSE to fight for her aspiration as a mental health nurse and was interviewed by Oriental Daily(《東方日報》). As one of the many beneficiaries of our school’s “Walk with Lutheranians” (「信義人愛同行」) programme, Tin-yuk has been receiving financial support along the way. We congratulate her on the success while feeling pleased with the programme's tremendous achievement? — and also being optimistic about its future contribution to fostering the growth of our students. Talking about the vision of teaching in fun, Vice Principal Ms. Tang and Mr. Tam were invited to the radio programme “教學有心人 — 傾心教室” to share their views upon teaching by learning. Using “Eye on the World” programme as an example, Ms. Tang stresses experiential learning opportunities for students to get world exposure.

Being the SCMP/HKJC Student of the Year (Performing Artist) 2014, 5B Kessay Chan Kwan-ming was invited by TEDx Hong Kong to have a sharing upon his aspiration along the path of music. On TED.com, TED is building a clearing house of free knowledge from the world's most inspired thinkers — and a community of curious souls to engage ideas with each other.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

Fine Music DJ@Schools Broadcast Contest
