Recently, our school’s students achieved an outstanding result by winning the championship in the secondary school group at the ESG Artificial Intelligence Vertical Farming Competition 2024 (Hong Kong)! As a result, our students were invited by the Fujian Agricultural Science Park and the Ta Kung Pao to represent Hong Kong at the Fujian three-day training camp for food security engineers from December 14 to 16. During the exchange activities, the students deeply felt the combination of local cultural heritage and technological advancement.
On the first day, they visited the Sanfang Qixiang in Fuzhou, where the ancient streets and traditional buildings seemed to tell stories of a long history. There, the students learned about Lin Zexu’s story, and his patriotism and resilient spirit deeply moved them, giving them a deeper understanding of the local culture.
On the second day, the students visited the Hongping Research Center of the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, gaining a new understanding of the special plant, Hongping. They discovered that Hongping plays an important role in water purification and ecological balance, and learned how to use artificial intelligence for space cultivation. The application of this cutting-edge technology made the students feel that the future of agriculture is full of limitless possibilities!
On the third day, the students visited the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, where they gained a profound understanding of the rich culture of the three teas. Interactions with local schools made them realize the importance of the integration of education and technology. This trip to Fujian not only enriched the students’ knowledge but also stimulated their thoughts on the future development of agricultural technology. They look forward to bringing back these valuable experiences and further promoting research and practice in related fields!
