“Guardian of the Ficus Tree” STEM competition and citizen scientist experiential learning programme

Biology students and Geography students have participated in the “Guardian of the Ficus Tree” STEM competition organised by the students from HKU Master of Environmental Management under School of Biological Sciences. On 25th Feb, our students paid a visit to HKU and joined the orientation. They learnt how to classify Ficus Tree species and their characteristics as well as the current pest threat on Ficus Trees.

In the coming two months, our students will investigate and collect data from the Ficus Trees around our school, YLLSS. It is hoped that we can put our collective effort in ensuring the health and growth of Ficus Trees in Hong Kong. Together, we fight for a better environment with our knowledge!
