Inauguration of Student Leaders: Inspiring Leadership for All

The Inauguration of Student Leaders Ceremony took place in the school hall on 19th September. The event commenced with a heartfelt prayer led by Ms. YIP Kwan, the chaplain of the ELCHK Tin Yiu Life Lutheran Church. She encouraged students to follow the teachings of Lord Jesus, to be a beacon of light for fellow believers, and to embody the spirit of collaboration between the school and church.

Following the prayer, student leaders from various organizations proudly ascended the stage to receive their appointment letters and prefect badges from Principal Mr. WAN. Their dignified presence exemplified the noble qualities expected of prefects.

Guided by the “Student Leadership Development Blueprint,” Principal Mr. WAN and the teaching staff serve as mentors to the prefects. This ceremony marked the emergence of a new generation of student leaders, signifying the rising mission of the newly appointed prefects. To reinforce their roles, Principal Mr. WAN led the prefects in reciting two biblical passages: “Matthew 5:13-15” and “Philippians 2:14-16.” These teachings emphasized the significance of being “salt”—maintaining a positive attitude within student organizations and serving as role models for their peers. They also explored the essence of being “light”—leading, encouraging, and supporting fellow Lutheranians in achieving their goals and illuminating their paths.

The ceremony culminated in the induction segment. After signing the “Hall of Fame,” the prefects officially embraced their identities as student leaders. Their journey ahead will be filled with opportunities for learning and growth as they commit to serving others. We eagerly anticipate their bright contributions and the positive impact they will have on our school, community, and country in the coming year!
