The influx of plastic waste into the ocean has raised global concerns due to its detrimental impact on marine ecosystems and human health. Recently, our school’s Geography students participated in a marine expedition organized by the Hong Kong Ocean Park Conservation Foundation, focusing on the conservation of the Chinese white dolphins. The aim was to gain a better understanding of the issue of plastic debris in the sea. Professor Anthony WONG Kam-sing, former Director of the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department, accompanied the students on the trip. He engaged in deep discussions with the students, sharing insights and exchanging ideas on daily waste reduction practices. Professor WONG subsequently wrote an article titled “Star Team Against Plastic Pollution”, which documented the interactions with our school’s students and teachers and was published in today’s edition of Ming Pao, spreading the message of nature conservation.
