We are delighted to share that our student, Ho Wing-sze, recently took part in “The 17th Hong Kong Youth Piano Competition 2026”, hosted by the Yuen Long District Arts Advisory Committee. With her poised performance and beautiful artistry, Wing-sze shone brightly among many talented participants, earning both the Gold Award and Second Runner-up in the Youth Category!
Professional Adjudication Meets Technical Mastery
The competition was adjudicated by a distinguished panel of experts, including Professor Eleanor Wong from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. For her performance, Wing-sze chose the spirited piece Le Chat et la Souris (The Cat and the Mouse) by American composer Aaron Copland. This particular work requires a high level of technical finesse:
- Agile Touch: Vividly capturing the musical themes through light staccato and swift, graceful scales.
- Delicate Control: Masterfully handling the rich dynamics and sudden sforzando, showcasing fine control and sensitivity at her fingertips.
- Rhythmic Vitality: Maintaining steady rhythm and grace even through complex accent shifts and playful transitions.
