Today, our school held the S6 Pioneering Ceremony for the graduating S6 students. This symbolic ceremony not only marks the imminent conclusion of their secondary school journey but also signifies the beginning of a new chapter in their lives!
At the start of the ceremony, Principal Mr. WAN shared a reflection, recalling the Secondary One Blessing Ceremony held when the students first enrolled. Using the metaphor of a ‘little eagle,’ he mentioned how teachers and parents, like ‘eagles,’ have guarded and nurtured the students throughout their secondary years, and now the students are ready to spread their wings and soar. Following this, he shared four ‘S’s: “Success” is the belief that one can achieve through self-confidence and effort; “Strategy” emphasizes using a growth mindset and the SMART principle for effective study planning; “Sleep” is like a “vitamin,” crucial for maintaining energy; and “Support” refers to the comprehensive backing from classmates, teachers, and parents, ensuring students do not walk alone on their journey. Finally, the Principal quoted Philippians 3:13-14 from the Bible: “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal.””He encouraged the students to seize the future and steadfastly pursue their life goals.
Representatives from each class—LAM Heung-ying (6A), CHAN Maia (6B), FUNG Lok-yiu (6C), CHEUNG Chung-hei (6D), and TSE Tsz-ching (6E)—shared their gratitude, specifically thanking the Principal, class teachers, subject teachers, and the dedicated staff and workers who contribute silently.
Reflecting on their campus years, they all shared how the Lutheranians’ quality of mutual trust and help among classmates fostered their growth. They spoke enthusiastically about the joy of learning under the “HappyDemic” philosophy and detailed their practical application of the growth mindset and the steadfast progress brought by SMART goals. Finally, the representatives used these precious experiences to encourage their peers, urging them to carry the strength bestowed by the school and continue to embody the Lutheranians spirit, bravely chasing their dreams in future challenges!
This year, the Religious Committee specially introduced a new segment: the ‘Little Wooden Box’ Blessing Transmission. LEE Pui-yi (6A) and HO Yan-kit (6D) shared that their S1 Blessing Ceremony coincided with the pandemic. This little wooden box, which has accompanied them for years, holds not only the precious memories of their secondary school life but also the warm motivation that supports them in moving forward. The blessing cards, accumulated year after year from the Principal, teachers, and parents, have unknowingly collected all the beautiful wishes of their youth, witnessing the growth and transformation of every student.
The ceremony concluded with a solemn oath led by WONG Hoi-ching (6C) and CHEUNG Chung-hei (6D) on behalf of the entire graduating class. We earnestly hope that our S6 students will embrace challenges with unwavering faith, ride the wind and waves, set sail on their journey, and write a glorious chapter in their lives.
