Joint Planning by School and Home: Paving the Path to Achieving Dreams

Numerous parents, teachers, and students gathered for a sincere exchange at the S6 University Dream Soaring Parents’ Meeting, building momentum for the road ahead.

Principal Mr. WAN led the discussion by sharing his personal experience, inspiring everyone from the perspective of a ‘companion’, emphasizing that subject selection is not a random choice but a precise plan for the next stage of life. He encouraged students to pursue their dreams using the ‘SMART’ principle and actively attend university information days to make their goals increasingly ‘S’pecific. He also urged students to share their aspirations with their parents, building the confidence for their journey through understanding and support from family. He concluded that the so-called ‘highly-coveted programs’ (神科) are not those defined by others as popular, but the fields the students genuinely aspire to—this initial aspiration is the most valuable motivation on the path to realizing their dreams!

Subsequently, Assistant Principal Ms. CHEUNG addressed the volatility of this year’s admission scores and explained crucial considerations for program selection, presenting the ‘ICARE’ principle, which highlights ‘R’ecent trends and ‘E’dges (personal strengths) to navigate risks among the myriad of choices.

Vice Principal Mr. TAM then provided detailed guidance on core areas such as DSE exam preparation and grades prediction, instilling confidence for the students’ steady preparation.

Following this, all S.6 Mentors engaged in in-depth conversations with students and parents, offering abundant care and advice. Meanwhile, class teachers and subject teachers shared key preparation strategies based on students’ daily performance, facilitating effective home-school communication.

This Parents’ Meeting fostered a strong bond among parents, teachers and students. May we continue to move forward hand-in-hand, supporting our S6 students to steadfastly pursue their aspirations on the JUPAS (Joint University Programmes Admissions System) journey and reach their ideal destination!
