The third meeting and closing ceremony of this year’s “Global Project” have concluded successfully! With the theme of “Traditional Games”, the entire event was filled with rich cultural sharing and exchange, allowing participating teachers and students to gain a deep understanding of the unique traditional cultures of different regions.
During the third meeting, Guangzhou No. 3 Middle School delivered a presentation on “Shadow Puppetry”. The students introduced the historical origins and artistic characteristics of shadow puppetry, as well as its significant cultural value as a traditional Chinese folk art, showcasing the creativity and wisdom inherent in this intangible cultural heritage.
Subsequently, Pinghu Donghu Middle School presented on the theme of “Cat’s Cradle”. Through vivid explanations and demonstrations, the students shared how this timeless traditional game displays ingenuity and joy through simple string manipulations, while carrying collective childhood memories and the significance of cultural inheritance.
During the sharing session, Ms. Shaman of our school pointed out that traditional games not only connect people emotionally but also carry a wealth of history and culture. In the process of playing, students needed to cooperate and communicate with one another, learning the importance of teamwork and respecting others, while also experiencing essential character traits such as integrity, perseverance, and tolerance.
At the closing ceremony, Vice Principal LIU Chuangzhou of Guangzhou No. 3 Middle School delivered a speech, stating that this activity spanned different regions, providing students with the opportunity to learn from and exchange ideas with one another. He expressed his hope that students would embrace multiculturalism with an open mind and that the friendships established across these regions would continue to flourish.
Furthermore, Ms. LI Sin-yee, Chairperson of our school’s International Cultural Exchange Committee, shared that the activity effectively broadened students’ international horizons, established deep cross-regional friendships, and fostered a spirit of mutual respect and understanding through cultural exchange.
The “Global Project” (G Project) has not only facilitated cultural exchange among students and deepened their understanding of traditional cultures from various places , but also allowed them to realize the importance of cultural inheritance through the theme of “Traditional Games”, nurturing a new generation equipped with an international perspective and an inclusive spirit!
