2026 YLLSS Lunar New Year Fair: ‘YLL Stride and Shine’ Concludes Successfully

Today, the first day of the Lunar New Year, is filled with joy and auspiciousness. We wish everyone a prosperous Year of the Horse, academic success, and good health and peace!

The six-day Yuen Long Lutheran Secondary School Lunar New Year Fair, themed “YLL Stride and Shine”, has successfully concluded at Stall 11, Yuen Long Tung Tau Industrial Area Playground. The organizing committee, comprising teachers and students, began meticulous preparations months in advance. Student committee members gained practical experience in market operations, applying classroom knowledge and enhancing their promotional and communication skills. Despite the hot weather, student ambassadors enthusiastically promoted Siusiu Horse(Smiling Horse), even performing the theme song live, showcasing their youthful energy and creativity, and bringing joy to every guest.

Principal Mr. WAN specially hosted a celebration banquet to express gratitude to all the teachers involved, student committee members, and student ambassadors for their dedicated efforts and steadfast commitment from preparation to execution, ensuring the entire fair was orderly and spectacular. Thanks to everyone’s strong support, all our merchandise, including the dolls, were completely sold out by 8:30 p.m.! Even so, we are extremely grateful to alumni Mr. TANG Hing-ip, BBS. and Mr. TANG Kwok-sun for sponsoring the ‘Lucky Draw of the Year of the Horse’ segment, which ran every half hour. Mr. TSUI, Principal of Kwong Ming Ying Loi School also graced us with his presence as an award presenter, making the YLLSS Lunar New Year Fair even more enriching and exciting! After the countdown, we welcomed the new year! All gifts were given out, and the signature ‘YLL Stride and Shine’ cardboard cutouts were directly given to the public who supported YLLSS! Thank you for everyone’s support!

This year’s Lunar New Year Fair was bustling with people, and we sincerely thank Mr. LAU, Head of the Education Department of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong, school supervisors, alumni, teachers, students, and parents for their support! Special thanks also go to Mr. WONG Kai-sum, Chairman of the Alumni Association, for once again lending his warehouse, which contributed to the smooth completion of the event!

This Lunar New Year Fair not only showcased the students’ vitality but also witnessed the team’s cohesion and growth, making it a rewarding and heartwarming experience!
