Our school orchestra and Chinese Dance Team recently concluded a highly successful cross-border artistic exchange program in Guangzhou, titled “Melodies of Friendship, Hearts in Harmony: Guangzhou-Hong Kong Cultural Exchange Tour 2026”. Partnering with Guangzhou No. 3 Middle School and Guangzhou No. 10 Middle School, the tour fostered deep cultural connections through music, dance, and heritage exploration.
Highlights of the tour:
Artistic Collaboration
Our students engaged in intensive joint rehearsals and sports interactions at Guangzhou No. 3 Middle School. The exchange reached its climax during the Music & Art Showcase, where orchestra performances and collaborative dance pieces bridged the gap between the two cities, showcasing exceptional talent and fostering lasting friendships.
Cultural & Industrial Heritage
The delegation visited the world-renowned Pearl River Piano Manufactory, witnessing the precision of international piano craftsmanship. Furthermore, students explored traditional Chinese arts through shadow puppetry exhibitions and paper-cutting workshops at the historic “Little Red Building”, gaining firsthand insight into Lingnan’s intangible cultural heritage.
Professional Theatre Experience
A major highlight was attending the acclaimed musical “I Am What I Am: at the Guangzhou Opera House. Starring renowned Hong Kong actor Jerry Lamb, the production served as a powerful testament to regional artistic integration. The musical’s core message—perseverance against all odds—left a profound impact on our students.
This exchange tour has not only broadened our students’ cultural horizons but also inspired them to embrace the spirit of being courageous, persistent, and true to one’s aspirations. We look forward to more opportunities for such meaningful cross-cultural dialogues in the future.
