The performance of “Dawn” by the Chinese drum team depicts the scene of the earth slowly waking up at dawn. Through the pulsating drum beats, it outlines a vibrant picture, allowing the audience to feel the wonder of nature and the vitality of life! 3C YUEN Jeanne, 3B CHAN Wing-sum, 3B SHEK Hiu-yin, 3C LI Ching-yan, 3D YAO Miao-laam, 2C ZHANG Jiaying, 2D WONG Yan-tung, 2E HEUNG Pui-yi brought this wonderful performance to everyone!
The guzheng piece “Happy Canal Water,” performed by WONG Yu-hin from 5D, blends the characteristics of Henan folk music with modern guzheng techniques, depicting the beautiful natural scenery of the Hongqi Canal and people’s aspirations for a better life.
The guzheng solo “Sisters of the Prairie Heroes,” performed by LIU Jiayu from 1A, is inspired by two Mongolian heroic sisters who bravely protect their flock during a snowstorm. The music is beautiful and profound, telling a story centered around heroism.
The saxophone piece “Fishing Boat Singing at Dusk,” performed by CAO Lai-wai from 2C, is based on an ancient guqin composition, with a background story related to the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Bo’s “Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng.” Through its beautiful melody and rich emotions, it presents a groundbreaking work in the history of Chinese guzheng art, with each note adding a unique color to this musical feast.
