Real-time Virtual Tour: Exploring Ancient Roman society and life through the Roman Colosseum

Students from our school participated in a real-time virtual tour to the Colosseum in Rome. The tour was led by an experienced tour guide who showcased the Colosseum through a walking tour. Not only was the Colosseum an architectural marvel, it was also a centrepiece in Ancient Roman society and its people’s lives. The tour guide explained each section of the Colosseum with much meticulous details, allowing students to understand its features and historical purposes. Today, the Colosseum remains as a popular tourist spot – its uses have changed over time. Through this, students understood how building structures could change their purposes over time, just as the society it serves could also change. The virtual tour was an eye-opening and valuable experience– students could investigate and understand a wide range of historical topics about the Colosseum.
