On January 22nd, our Principal Mr. WAN and Assistant Principal Mr. CHAN led a team consisting of 2C CHAN Yan-yuet,2D WONG Lok-gi, and 1C HUNG Shing-chong to participate in the EdTech Exchange event held in the United Kingdom as representatives of the Hong Kong Marty Robot Team. The students had the opportunity to engage and showcase their programming experiences with Marty to educators from different countries at the BETT Show, an educational technology exhibition in the UK. Dr. CHOI Yuk-lin, the Secretary for Education of the HKSAR, also attended the event to support and exchange ideas with the Hong Kong team. With Chinese New Year just around the corner, our students also personally presented Dr. CHOI with traditional “Fai Chun” calligraphy with to express our school’s best wishes. On the same day, Supervisor Mr. CHAN Kin-hung, Charles took time out of his hectic schedule to encourage our students in person.
In addition to the BETT Show, we visited Channing School to exchange learning experiences with their students regarding Marty and STEAM programming, by which a cooperation agreement between both schools was achieved. We also had the opportunity to tour around Buckingham Palace, the National Gallery, Oxford University, Cambridge University, and WeWork London. In just seven days, we immersed ourselves in a rich environment full of growth and unforgettable memories, whether it be through Principal Mr. WAN’s impromptu history lessons at the Science Museum and the British Museum, through the listening to an insightful talk on artificial intelligence development and pursuing dreams by Lech Sikora-Sikorski from Preface UK, or through other learning experiences like appreciating masterpieces at the National Gallery, and enjoying the astounding performance of the renowned musical “The Phantom of the Opera” at His Majesty’s Theatre.
