The annual YLLSS Information Day arrived as scheduled, with this year’s theme being “Embracing Technology, Happydemic for Life”. On the day of the event, the campus transformed into a fun-filled experience venue, with various subject panels and interest groups designing a rich array of activities incorporating STEAM elements! Parents and students walked into the campus together, experiencing the joy of learning through interaction and the vibrant campus atmosphere through communication with teachers and students!
Upon entering the campus, one could feel the thoughtful design everywhere, with Principal Mr. WAN’s hand-drawn 1:1 student portrait board being particularly eye-catching! Using AR technology to find the hidden “Secret Code” was like embarking on a fun adventure. Activities like the STEAM robot interactive game and the library’s audiobook story experience each had their unique features. Among them, the space-themed curriculum, a key event of our school’s “YLLSS Year of Aerospace Science”, allowed participants to experience various space technologies through the “Space Exploration Box”, learn the basics of satellite programming, observe a “prototype model” of the school’s satellite up close, and personally create their own exclusive “mini-satellite” model, exploring the mysteries of space technology through hands-on practice!
The experience activities at the various subject booths were equally exciting! The Chinese Language panel offered an ancient and modern culture time-travel experience, the Chinese History panel created an immersive Tang Dynasty setting, the History panel led participants into Hong Kong’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Maths panel launched an AI math challenge, the Physics panel set up a “Golden Card” finding mission, the Biology panel presented a “Little Lava Magic Experiment”, the Chemistry panel demonstrated the fun phenomenon of “Hot Ice”, the BAFS panel offered a “Little Financial Planner” experience, and the Geography panel created an “Arctic Adventure” scenario, allowing participants to gain diverse knowledge while having fun!
The “Festival Fusion Fiesta” zone on the fourth-floor hall gathered a wealth of international cultural experiences: the English panel and foreign teachers introduced various festivals from Ireland, France, and the UK; students from the Foreign Language Department prepared interactive mini-games in Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, and French. Participants could also try on traditional Japanese and Korean clothing, sparking interests in foreign languages and cultures through immersive experiences!
The performances in the music performance area were also memorable, with the percussion ensemble, handbell team, Sinfonietta orchestra, Chinese dance team, Chinese drums team, and singing by the Vocal Band and Show Choir, immersing the entire morning in a moving musical atmosphere. If you missed the performances on the day, there will be another wonderful show at YOHO Mall I in the evening of 22nd December, and you are welcome to support it!
At the event, student ambassadors enthusiastically introduced the school to the guests, and the cat-teasing wands from the Animal Caring Club were unique and adorable. At the “Elite Corner”, Principal Mr. WAN and Vice Principals warmly posed for photos with the guests. The bubble soccer, reaction lights, and AR basketball games on the playground were filled with laughter, and the hot popcorn added a touch of warmth to the event! Despite the slightly chilly weather, it could not dampen the enthusiasm of the YLLSS teachers and students. The laughter and warmth of this day became a precious memory in the hearts of the participants!
The YLLSS Information Day, with its diverse experiences and warm atmosphere, allowed participants to feel the joy of integrating technology and learning. We look forward to gathering with everyone again next year to create more wonderful memories.
