YLLSS Pride: Lighting Up Lives with Gratitude – CHAN Hau-yi (E.L.C.H.K.’s Most Outstanding Student [Secondary School Category])

The 32nd E.L.C.H.K. Outstanding Student Awards Ceremony was successfully held on 23rd May at Fanling Lutheran Secondary School.

CHAN Hau-yi from Class 6B was selected as the E.L.C.H.K.’s Most Outstanding Student (Secondary School Category). In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude for every moment of her life at YLLSS, for meeting her mentors, and for her parents’ unwavering companionship. These experiences have shaped her, enabling her to genuinely transform her gratitude into a light for life, showcasing the true path to excellence.

We also congratulate ZHENG Ka-chun from Class 5A, NG Lok-ching from Class 5C, and NG Chi-wing from Class 5C for being selected as Outstanding Students! Additionally, WONG Hoi-ching from Class 5C, TSE Tsz-yau Chloe from Class 4A, CHAN Bernice from Class 4A, and YAU Sum-yau from Class 4C were recognized as Excellent Students!

It brings us immense pride that these outstanding YLLSS students have received these accolades for their excellent character and academic achievements.

The school is dedicated to providing students with diverse opportunities to explore their potential, allowing them to excel in their areas of strength. As Dr. Annissa LUI Wai-ling, JP, former Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service, shared in her address, the journey from being a social worker to finding spiritual inspiration often involves “seeking the meaning of life” to uncover life’s boundless possibilities.

We wish all Lutheranians continued hard work in the future, and we are confident they will become role models for others and the pride of YLLSS!
