Founded in 1959 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong, our school has a history of more than half of a century. We are grateful that our school with the tremendous support of different stakeholders in realizing the school vision and mission, has been developing from strength to strength and approaching perfection day by day. We have now become one of the most popular schools in the district, being renowned for our striving for excellence with Christian values.
Our School is a place for children to explore their God-given potential. Apart from pursuing academic excellence reflected by the amazing performance in public examinations like the HKAL and the HKDSE, we also aim at equipping our Lutheranians to face the societal challenges after graduation. Emphasis is hence placed on equipping their language competency, enhancing their learning and thinking skills, and extending their learning beyond the classroom. Besides academic pursuits, we also aim at promoting a balanced and holistic growth of our Lutheranians through the provision of diverse experiential learning opportunities and extra-curricular activities inside and outside school. Our professional and experienced teaching staff are ready for providing a caring and loving environment with proper guidance and encouragement, in which our Lutheranians are able to excel themselves to develop their potential to the full.
Realizing our School Motto “Rectify Mind Cultivate Person” (正心修身), we spare no effort to nurture our Lutheranians to become responsible citizens and community leaders of highest virtue. As stated in the Great Learning, with rectified mind and being cultivated, people could then harmonize their families, govern a state in the right way and even bring peace to the Earth. This echoes with what is mentioned in Proverbs 22:6, “train up a child in the way he should go, end even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Our teaching staff have been devoting ourselves to act as role models to promote the spirit of loving and helping one another and to foster correct values and attitudes with the provision of a positive and warm learning environment with caring, mutual respect and love. Being guided by God, our Lutheranians will learn how to treasure their lives and become leaders of Christian morality, showing respect besides accomplishing academic excellence.
With the efforts paid by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong, supervisor, school managers, staff, students, parents, alumni and all friends of our school, we are confident of actualizing our belief “Excellence with Love, Justice with Care” effectively in the midst of numerous educational changes and challenges.
