S5 students will soon face challenges such as JUPAS subject selection and the Diploma Examination. Now is a good time to gather strength for future development. The evening’s parent-teacher conference was kicked off by Career Prefects 5C SO Yan-hei and WONG Ching-hei.
Principal Mr. WAN introduced the theme of “Archery and Bow Drawing”. He invited everyone to stand up and simulate the action of drawing a bow, to emphasize that “planning for the future is like archery, the hands should be straight, the movements should be standardized, and the goals should be clear and specific.” At the same time, parents can empathize with their children when drawing the bow and understand the pressure their children face when facing the public test of “shooting one arrow in six years”, and they should be more considerate of their peers! Principal Mr. WAN also advised S5 students to have the concept of being “professional candidates”, be diligent and focused in preparing for the exams and pursue their dreams! Master efficient learning, have a deep understanding of university joint admission requirements, develop a clear study plan, and remember that efforts without a goal often produce little results, so you need to strategically sprint towards your goals!
Afterwards, teachers Ms. CHEUNG, Ms. NG and Mr. LUI gave detailed explanations on topics such as subject selection arrangements, university joint admissions, and recommendation plans by various principals. Students should seize the opportunity to take advantage of the school network, the support of university dream flying tutors and the diverse opportunities at home and abroad, while paying attention to courses in various places to broaden their options for further study. Vice Principal Mr. TAM also emphasized that the DSE has entered the countdown and introduced that the school has taken several measures to fully support S5 students to move forward bravely and prepare hard for the exam.
Finally, the parent meeting ended with exchanges among the Dream Flyers Programme instructors, parents and students, who jointly made suggestions for the children’s future. Parents are the listeners and companions on their children’s growth journey. Home and school work together to provide appropriate support – neither excessive intervention nor lack of guidance and understand the children’s inner thoughts and needs. This parent-teacher meeting built a bridge of communication between home and school, helping students to move forward steadily in pursuing their dreams and achieve their ideal goals!
