Faced with numerous subject choices, how should parents guide their children in making decisions? Our school’s Careers and Life Planning Education Committee organized The S3 Parents’ Talk on Elective Subject Selection to provide guidance and information to parents.
During the information day, Principal Mr. WAN shared his own experience with subject selection in S3 and his life planning insights. He emphasized that in today’s economically competitive society, being a leader requires resilience and the ability to guide others. He believes that empowering daughters to be independent and self-reliant is crucial. The principal also shared two important messages: first, “If you like it, are willing to take responsibility, and can overcome difficulties, that is ‘divine'”; second, students should consider not just the three years of senior secondary, but their entire life plan.
Subsequently, Vice-principal Mr. TAM and the Head of the Career Guidance and Life Planning Education Committee Ms. CHEUNG s shared the different subject selection tips and suggestions for parents and students; Mr. LUI and Ms. LEE also explained the information about Category B Applied Learning subjects and Category C Other Language subjects. The school offers over 300 combinations of senior secondary subjects. For elective courses, only one person is required to form a class, supporting students to bravely pursue their dreams!
Subject selection in S3 is a critical moment in students’ learning. Thanks to the joint efforts of parents and schools, like a pair of chopsticks, students will have the courage to pursue their dreams and shine brightly in the future!
