Visual Arts – M+ Museum of Contemporary Art Exhibition

Our Visual Arts Teachers led fifty S.1 to S.5 students on an off-campus learning activity in April. They visited the M+, a global museum of visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District, and participated in an interactive arts workshop there. The thematic exhibition “M+ Sigg Collection: Another Story” showed a visual approach to examining the styles and practices of contemporary Chinese art from the 1990s to the present. Our students enjoyed the discovery learning a lot, and this was beneficial to boost their creativity and capacity for art appreciation. They explored the unique visual language through the lens of artists who strived for self-presence. It was also inspiring to understand how contemporary Chinese artists brought positive impacts to individuals, families, and the community through the power of the arts. Participating in the interactive art workshop equipped our students to understand the importance of becoming an observant and empathic person as well as being cooperative and open-minded in a team.
