In order to help students learn and appreciate Chinese culture, the teachers worked with students and parents to plan Chinese Culture Week activities. The activities included calligraphy writing, participating in art booths and a spring couplet writing competition. Non-Chinese students and teachers wore Chinese costumes and learnt traditional rituals together. Principal Mr. WAN gave his hand-written spring couplets to nearby residents and the elderly who live alone in order to introduce the students to the profundity of Chinese culture and to cultivate a sense of nationalism among them.
