Education Sunday Service cum S1 Blessing Ceremony

2022-2023 Education Sunday Service cum S1 Blessing Ceremony was successfully held at our school hall this morning. The Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (ELCHK), Rev. CHANG Chun-wa, gave a sermon on “Vessels unto Honour”. He preached about how we can become “vessels of gold and silver”. He also encouraged the audience to treat others kindly and patiently in order to be useful vessels of God.

During the blessing ceremony, parents blessed their children and gave them a wooden box as a token. The box contained various message cards from Principal Mr. WAN, the ELCHK Tin Yiu Life Lutheran Church, class teachers and religion teachers. Moreover, parents and students themselves will also put their blessings and expectations in the box. The blessings of peace, joy, kindness and faith from God will surely become the motivation of Lutheranians, enabling them to transform and thrive for excellence. The blessings will eventually help them to bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit glorifying God and benefiting others, helping them to soar high like an eagle.

At the end of the ceremony, Rev. CHANG, Executive Secretary Rev. LAM Yat-kwan Jenny, Evangelist PUN Sze-kong, Principal Mr. WAN Ho-yin, Vice-Principal Mr. TAM Kin-fun, School Religion Director Ms. CHAN Hau-hung and Parent Representative Ms. CHAN Ching-man offered blessings to S1 students.

「In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, 」
