The Diamond Jubilee Sports Day

Rejoicing at the Diamond Jubilee Sports Day, the school was celebrating with the 56th Anniversary Sports Day on 27 and 28 September 2018 at Tin Shui Wai Sports Centre. Also, to celebrate the diamond jubilee anniversary, Long Distance Running* and torch relay were specially designated to spread the spirit of Lutheranians and the message of gratefulness, brilliance and our 60th anniversary. It was also our honour to have Dr. Chan Wai Keung Timothy, Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature from Hong Kong Baptist University, as our Guest-of-Honour to officiate at the Diamond Jubilee Sports Day and Mr. Tang Yik Chun, one of our alumni – the Asian Games Hong Kong athletics representative, to have an exhibition game with our students. It was a success for Lutheranians to demonstrate the skills and sportsmanship in the events. The Sports days have been hailed as a huge success which strengthens friendship, respect and care. Congratulations to all the winners!
*The special Chinese name of our anniversary long distance running ‘Niulasong’ originates from our former Principal Mr. Ma. To avoid the duplication of Mr. Ma’s surname and the Chinese name of Marathon, the name ‘Niulasong’ was adopted from the 60s to 80s.
