Nanjing National Conditions Exchange Group

As one of the four ancient capitals of my country, Nanjing has profound historical and cultural roots. 30 Lutheranians and 5 teachers set out to visit Nanjing with excitement and anticipation, looking forward to this historical and cultural journey.

Take a flight from Hong Kong to Nanjing, and then transfer to Yancheng City. Yancheng is not only a treasure house of history and a fertile ground for education, but also a wetland capital with beautiful ecology. After arriving, our students first tasted authentic northern Jiangsu cuisine, and then visited the sister school, Yancheng Luming Road Junior High School, the next day.

Luming Middle School, rooted in Yancheng, has a profound history and cultural heritage, has made remarkable achievements in the field of education, and has cultivated generations of pillars of society. It is a role model for us to learn from. Under the warm hospitality of Director Mr. YANG, Secretary Mr. WU, Principal Mr. ZHANG and a group of teachers and students, our students first learned about the long history of Luming School.

Accompanied by beautiful scenery of lakes, mountains and colorful flowers, our students enjoy the campus scenery along the way. At the welcoming ceremony, Secretary Mr. Wu said that Jiangsu played an important role in the development history of the Chinese nation. He looked forward to the arrival of our teachers and students to carry out cultural exchanges between the two places, learn more about the stories of Yancheng and the culture of Haiyan, and jointly build the dream of home and country. Assistant Principal Ms. LAM also said that the two schools have always shared the same roots and aspirations, and he hopes that this exchange will be like a key to open the door to exchanges between the two schools. Afterwards, the friends from Yancheng Middle School presented gifts to our classmates to commemorate the beginning of their friendship.

Then, our Lutheranians walked into the classroom to experience English and Mathematics classes and conduct academic exchanges between the two places. After lunch, Lutheranians participated in calligraphy, flower arrangement and robotics experience classes. In addition to appreciating our country’s traditional culture and art, they also did not forget to learn advanced technology and become talented people who are well-versed in both ancient and modern knowledge.

The conductor raised his arm slightly and the music started. The Guzheng and Pipa first emitted vigorous music, which kicked off the Yancheng and Hong Kong  music feast. Our school specially arranged music for this exchange and brought two songs, “Fengyang Flower Drum” and “Lu Ming”.

“Fengyang Flower Drum” is a folk tune with a distinct rhythm and a joyful atmosphere. “Lu Ming” was created to celebrate the reunion of The ELCHK Yuen Long Lutheran Secondary School and Lu Ming Middle School today. “The deer are calling, eating apples in the wild. I have guests, playing the harp and the flute.”

The Pipa plays with its brisk finger movements, and the notes fall on a jade plate like raindrops. Afterwards, instruments such as the Guzheng joined in, interweaving a moving melody with rich layers and majestic momentum, instantly bringing everyone into the world of Chinese music. Music has no boundaries. Students from both places communicate with each other and jointly inherit and promote Chinese music culture.
